Your New Role
Acerta, the intermediary division of Guild Insurance, is excited to be seeking an experienced high profile National Account Underwriter to join our team. As a senior member of the National Account Underwriting team, you will play a key role in supporting our broker partners through high quality underwriting decisions, strong relationship management and a commitment to delivering tailored digital led insurance solutions. You will contribute to the growth of our national portfolio by providing technical expertise, sound risk assessment and proactive service across our network.
What you will be doing
- Managing and underwriting a national portfolio of commercial property/package intermediated risks within delegated authority
- Providing timely, accurate and market informed underwriting decisions that align with risk appetite
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers across the country
- Identifying opportunities to grow accounts through negotiation, portfolio insights and product knowledge
- Supporting the execution of broker and distribution strategies to achieve growth and retention targets
- Delivering high levels of customer service with a focus on accuracy, responsiveness and trusted advice
- Mentoring and coaching with Underwriters as required
- Collaborating with colleagues across underwriting, distribution and product to deliver a seamless experience
- Ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines, regulatory obligations and business processes
What you will bring
- Extensive underwriting and reinsurance knowledge across general insurance product, specifically with a background in small ISR, business-package segments, with a focus on high end commercial placements through to the SME client base.
- Strong property portfolio exposure and account management experience
- Proven analytical capability and sound judgement in underwriting decisions
- Strong communication skills across verbal and written channels
- Ability to build effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
- Level 8 or higher License Authority within Guild with supporting ANZIIF Diploma and relevant insurance qualifications including RG146 Tier 2 or tertiary studies preferred
