Guild Insurance is seeking an experienced Senior Portfolio Specialist to join our high performing Product and Underwriting Team.  

As a Senior Portfolio Specialist, you will use your underwriting expertise to support our team in dealing with complex renewals, you could also be involved in pulling together tenders and new business opportunities. However, the core of your work is to own your portfolio. You will be responsible for product and pricing solution and collaborating with your colleagues across the business to implement portfolio strategy to insure its long-term growth and profitability. 

If you are a data driven insurance professional with strong Casualty expertise who enjoys shaping strategy and driving portfolio performance, this role provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. 

Why this role matters 

In this key position, you will support the development, optimisation and sustainability of our Casualty portfolio. Working closely with Underwriting, Claims, Distribution and the wider Guild team, you will deliver insights, guide strategy and support product performance to achieve growth and strong customer outcomes. 

What you will do 

  • Lead analysis of revenue, claims and profitability across your market portfolios 

  • Develop product, pricing and underwriting recommendations that drive portfolio sustainability 

  • Provide technical underwriting support for complex referrals, new business and renewals 

  • Influence product and pricing initiatives through data interpretation and market insights 

  • Collaborate with Distribution, Casualty Claims, Analytics and Operations to embed insights and build capability 

  • Support governance, reporting and compliance requirements across the portfolio 

  • Contribute to thought leadership, internal training and promotional content 

What you will bring 

  • At least 10 years of experience in general insurance underwriting or portfolio management with strong Casualty capability 

  • Expertise in Professional Indemnity essential 

  • Experience across packaged products, public or products liability, cyber or management liability is desirable 

  • A solution focused mindset with the ability to learn quickly across adjacent product lines 

  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret claims data, trends and market shifts 

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and ability to influence through data and insight
