Your New Role
As the Financial Accounting and Reporting Manager, you will lead key financial accounting functions across Guild Insurance. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will provide strategic financial insights to support business growth, manage statutory and regulatory reporting and oversee reinsurance accounting. This role is pivotal in ensuring accuracy, compliance and continuous improvement across finance operations.
What you’ll be doing
- Manage financial accounting processes including monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations, supplier coding and end-of-month consolidated management accounts
- Oversee investment accounting and manage weekly cashflow forecasting to support financial planning
- Manage lease accounting and reporting in line with AASB16
- Lead statutory and regulatory reporting including GST, APRA, Fire Service Levy, Stamp Duty and other compliance requirements
- Lead reinsurance reporting and reconciliation including proportional and non-proportional treaties and terrorism & Cyclone reporting
- Provide leadership and coaching to a small team and collaborate with internal stakeholders and external auditors to support strategic initiatives
- Contribute to strategic initiatives and actuarial data reconciliation

Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor of Accounting and CPA or CA qualification
- Experience in the insurance industry and insurance accounting would be ideal; however, it is likely you have worked in a financial services business where you have had exposure to statutory reporting
- Experience leading small teams or supervising others work.
- Exposure to insurance accounting would be ideal however statutory reporting of some sorts is essential
- Proficiency in Microsoft D365 and advanced Excel
