Guild Insurance is seeking a seasoned claims professional to take ownership of a complex portfolio while mentoring a high-performing team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in public liability, property liability, or personal injury claims, with personal injury experience considered especially relevant, who thrives on guiding others and driving technical excellence.

What you’ll do
As a Senior Casualty Claims Specialist, you would be responsible for managing a complex portfolio of claims with clients across allied health and other professionals, within your delegation. You will be required to provide additional support to the Casualty Claims team and the wider claims business on claims issues.

Key Responsibilities of the role…
- Manage complex Casualty claims in line with company guidelines, including legal involvement and cross-functional support.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior claims staff, including peer reviews and claims advice.
- Collaborate with legal and underwriting teams, offering feedback on suppliers, legal advice, and policy wording issues.
Knowledge, experience, and skills we are looking for…
- Legal and insurance expertise: Experience in casualty/professional indemnity claims (such as public liability, property liability, or personal injury claims) and strong knowledge of relevant legislation, litigation, and insurance industry practices.
- Claims and business acumen: Advanced understanding of claims management processes and insurance business drivers, with the ability to make informed, independent decisions.
- Mentorship mindset: A passion for developing others, with the ability to coach, review, and uplift team performance.
- Clear, confident communication: Skilled in “reporting up” to senior stakeholders, with the ability to influence and articulate complex issues.
- Agile and adaptable mindset: Skilled at navigating shifting priorities and managing competing demands with composure and clarity. Demonstrates sound judgment in fast-paced environments, balancing strategic goals with operational needs to deliver timely, high-quality outcomes.
- Analytical and decisive: Comfortable making independent decisions on legal matters and recoveries, backed by sound judgment.
