Guild Insurance is looking for a detail‑driven, curious and solutions‑focused Accountant to join our high‑performing Finance team. If you thrive on solving problems, love getting the numbers right and enjoy contributing to process improvements, this is your opportunity to make an impact in a values‑led organisation.

Why You’ll Love This Role

As a key member of our Insurance Finance team, you’ll help ensure our ledgers are accurate, complete and compliant, while gaining exposure across statutory, regulatory, tax and month‑end activities. No two days look the same. You’ll work across balance sheet reconciliations, referral fees, cyber agency accounting, reinsurance support, fixed assets, levies and more.

You’ll join a collaborative team of finance professionals who value continuous improvement, shared learning and delivering exceptional outcomes.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll take ownership of core finance activities, including:

  • Support month‑end and quarter‑end processes, including preparing balance sheet reconciliations and assisting with reporting in line with the finance timetable
  • Manage key reconciliations such as actuarial data, fixed assets, cyber agency accounts and clearing accounts within D365
  • Contribute to day‑to‑day accounting activities, including weekly cashflow preparation, reinsurance receipting and supporting reinsurance accounting
  • Prepare and report monthly referral fees for association partners, ensuring accuracy and alignment with agreement requirements
  • Maintain the fixed asset register, including monthly depreciation schedules and motor vehicle lease provision calculations
  • Complete statutory and regulatory obligations, including PAYG for workers compensation claims, stamp duty, levy returns, GST exception testing and support for APRA reporting
  • Assist with audit preparation by preparing documentation and responding to auditor queries
  • Collaborate across the Finance team, providing backup support to the Systems Accountant and contributing to process improvements and ad‑hoc project work.

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone with:

  • 3–5 years' Accounting experience
  • Experience in balance sheet reconciliations
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Intermediate Excel skills (v‑lookups, pivots essential etc)
  • Experience with D365 (desirable)
  • Insurance industry exposure (nice to have but not required)
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large data sets to support reporting as well as a comprehensive general ledger
  • Strong communication and time‑management skills
