Guild Group’s technology team supports the company’s three key business units - Guild Insurance, Acerta, and Guild Trustee Services. We are adaptive, responsive, agile, and always seeking ways to make our solutions more robust and flexible. We use the Guidewire Insurance suite- a large Java/XML/ SQL web-based application package currently being implemented.
This is a great opportunity to take the next step in or commence your career as a Guidewire developer. You will be exposed to varied and interesting work as you move across our business units, giving you the opportunity to find the part of development you really like. This role will involve implementation/development activities and support over this period. You will report to the Development Practice Manager whilst you are assigned to a project or production support team with objectives driven by a Project Manager, Board Owner, product owner or technical team lead. Your days will be varied and will include:
- Automation and project-based work
- Screen composition
- Rules writing
- Form creation
- Design and development on integration interfaces
- statutory reports
- proactively promoting the concepts and adoption of the Guild Agile Processes and championing the Guild Innovation Process
- System integration
- Defect investigation
- Architecture and design
- Green fields development

You are well known for being motivated, ambitious, creative and generally excited to be a guidewire developer. Your approach to problem solving, analytical capability and your positive attitude will set you in good stead for this fast-paced role. We are an innovative bunch, so bring your continuous improvement ideas, we want to hear about your familiarity with agile and scrum methodologies. Specifically, we are looking for your experience with:
Open Source Technologies such as Eclipse, Hibernate, Tomcat
Spring, AngularJS, and Web technologies
XML, Webservices, SOAP and JSON, and Messaging
DBMS and SQL. Also experience in multi-channel digital environments or social media integration will be beneficial, as will Hudson, Ant, Maven, Selenium exposure.
