Your new role

You will be responsible for your own portfolio of complex Commercial Property claims, managing these in a timely and efficient manner in line with your delegated authorities and within our service standards.

You will be proactive in managing claims and be known both for your customer care and financial focus. When needed, we will also call on you to assist in other areas such as a small portfolio of domestic claims; claim payment reviews and approvals; and reviewing and responding to IDR requests among others.

Our claims team will look to you to provide technical coaching and support and our claims leaders will rely on your eye for improving processes where we can. Known for your integrity, you will adhere to our guidelines, service standards and Insurance Code of Practice in all your work.

As a trusted advisor to your stakeholders, you will provide claim-specific information to assist in identifying underwriting and product trends. You will build respectful, professional and productive relationships within the claims team as well as your other colleagues across the business.

About you

You have been in a commercial claims role, specifically ISR, within general insurance and have experience in managing large/ major loss claims. You will have worked with both direct and broker clients and have dealt with senior/ executive management.

Your knowledge will cover policy areas such as ISR, business, contract works claims and business interruption among others. You will also bring into the role your knowledge of the intermediary market.

You have good attention to detail as well as analytical capabilities. You show care for customers and can manage relationships effectively with those in and outside of the business. You are comfortable in your knowledge and expertise and are self-assured. You are known for exercising diplomacy in your meetings and have excellent communication skills. You will be able to coach and mentor others to deepen the technical knowledge and skills in our claims team.

It would be desirable for you to have ANZIIF – Cert IV in General Insurance and/or Diploma of General Insurance and an FSRA – ANZIF Tier 1 would also be preferred.
